Sweet Green Smoothie

Updated: Mar 8

So healthy! This green smoothie is packed full of spinach, but we can thank the sweet dates and a few wedges of frozen peaches for making this a sweet smoothie treat that even your kids will love. Blend this for breakfast and you'll be good to go for hours.

Spinach gives this fresh smoothie its gorgeous color, but the dates are the secret ingredient that kick up the sweet factor. Hat tip to my silly cat Bella for the photo bomb. ;)

Sweet Green Smoothie

By Melinda Keckler, Crinkled Cookbook

1/2 one medium banana, the more ripe the better

3 pitted dates

1 cup fresh spinach

1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt

3 slices frozen peaches

1/2 cup 2% milk

4 ice cubes

Place ingredients in a NutriBullet cup (or blender) and blend until smooth and creamy. Serve right away.

Makes about 2 cups, or 16 oz.

Green smoothies can taste a little bitter sometimes, but this one is smooth and sweet. It's so yummy! Double-check to be sure you use pitted dates or, if they are unpitted, remove the pit. I forgot to do that once and the pits created a bit of a problem. ha ha. Enjoy. XO
