The Best Guacamole

Updated: Aug 20, 2019

There are many variations on fresh 'guac' but this one is easy-peasy and the perfect mix of avocado, lime and cilantro - plus a few more things. Give it a try and tell me what you think!

Nothing says DIG IN like a bowl of fresh guacamole. Perfect with chips, also delicious on toast in the morning.

The Best Guacamole

By: Melinda Keckler, Crinkled Cookbook

2 large ripe avocados, peeled and diced into a medium bowl

1 lime, juiced

1 tbsp chopped cilantro

1/2 tsp garlic salt - or to taste

fresh ground black pepper

2 tbsp finely chopped white onion

2 tbsp finely chopped tomato

Mash avocados ( I use a potato masher) and add lime juice. Stir to blend the juice with all of the avocado. Add remaining ingredients and mix gently to combine. Serve with your favorite chips and enjoy!

Be sure to dice the onion and tomatoes very fine, an extra few chops with knife should do it.

To save or serve later, place a few squeezes of lime juice of the top of the prepared guacamole and place plastic wrap directly on top and refrigerate. The plastic wrap will keep the guacamole picture perfect (no browning) and totally fresh.
